Best wishes to Lynell Anderson on her retirement
Child Care Now extends our warmest well wishes and gratitude for Lynell Anderson as she retires from her role with the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC. Lynell has been instrumental in advancing the $10aDay child care campaign in BC as well as advocating for high quality universal child care across Canada. Drawing on her professional background as an accountant, she has been a passionate researcher and advocate focused on funding policies and financial analysis in support of equitable and affordable child care systems.
Lynell has previously assumed many roles in Child Care Now (previously known as the Child Care Advocacy Association in Canada), since our organization was founded in 1982. At various times, she served on the Board of Directors, numerous advisory committees, and took on the job of Project Manager. We are especially grateful for Lynell’s leadership during the difficult years for child care, from 2006 to 2015, when the federal Conservatives governed Canada. Our organization, and Canadian child care advocacy as a whole, has greatly benefited from Lynell’s compassion, intellectual curiosity and steadfast commitment to developing and advocating evidence-based policy. Her contributions have made a positive difference in the lives of many children, families and educators across the country and will continue to ripple through future generations. We wish her all the best in her next stage of life.
